Visitors
to our farm are always impressed by the superb quality of our cows and stock
bulls, especially when they see the poor sandy land we have. Moss cows
must have the potential to perform above breed average to stay in the herd.
Many of our cows are breeders of champions.
When we analysed the recent composition of the herd, we found that over 50% of the Moss cows go back to six herds: Wedderlie, Bywell and Belladrum, Derculich, Eynsham & Eweshot. Over 40% are decendants from American and Candian herds, with over half of these going back to the embryo imports from the American herds of Rally, Summitcrest, and GT, with the remainder descendants from the Canadian Southolm herd.
Poor land is something we have not been able to alter and yet, by careful selection over the years from the best Scottish, Canadian and American genetics, we have succeeded in breeding a herd of very large commercial pedigree cows.
Why not come and see the mother of your future stock bulls? We would welcome your visit.

In addition to our core herd, we have a number of embryo cows for our E.T programme, which has been an integral part of our breeding programme for over 18 years. About 10% of calves born every year are got by E.T. using eggs from our own cows or carefully selected imported embryos.
Never prepared to rest on our laurels, we have made fact finding visits to top Canadian Angus herds. We have made selections of embryos towards our 5 year breeding programme. Latest new on embryos.
